Investment Adviser Representative/Broker vs
Registered Investment Adviser (RIA)
An Investment Adviser Representative/Broker works at a stock brokerage firm, and generally is defined by most states as a person who, for compensation:
- makes any recommendations regarding securities
- manages accounts of clients
- determines which recommendation or advice regarding securities should be given
- solicits or sells investment advisory services.
You would think that the roles and responsibilities would be clear and there would be a strong line between individuals who call themselves Investment Advisers and those who call themselves RIAs. The obvious answer is that an RIA gives impartial advice based on the best interest of the client and Investment Advisers/Brokers sell products as a third party.
At Randolph & Associates, Vicki L Wille is our Registered Investment Adviser. She will guide your personal portfolio to financial security.
